Sorella Stars in CSI: Freaks & Geeks

A month ago we posted about our order from the television series CSI. Well, last night “our” episode premiered and we were oh-so excited.

The episode was titled “Freaks & Geeks” and the description was: “When a Jane Doe is found near the freakish attractions of a 19th-century-inspired traveling sideshow, the team investigates a cast of unusual characters.”

Unusual indeed. Our horoscope charm turned out to be the key piece of evidence that solved two murders!

One of the carnival … ahh… errr.. performers .. wore the charm as a nipple ring. Oh, my. And it was bitten off and swallowed by another performer, and subsequent murder victim!

The charm was discovered in the stomach of the murder victim during an autopsy.  And, as you can see from the photo still from the show, no worse for the wear!

You can find our episode online here: CSI: Freaks & Geeks … Starring Sorella Jewelry

You certainly don’t have to be a carnival performer to appreciate our horoscope charms. They make wonderful gifts and are more commonly worn on a necklace chain or a bracelet …. rather than permanently attached to the body.

A couple of weeks ago we received a call from someone on the production design team for the CSI TV series. They were interested in our Horoscope charms for an upcoming episode, and ended up purchasing a set of two of two different horoscopes.

Oh, how excited were we! “Can we ask how our charms will factor into the story?” we asked with excitement. The answer threw us for a surprise.

We don’t want to ruin the story and suspense for the millions of CSI fans out there, so just suffice it to say that the storyline includes a bit of a bawdy carnival show with our charms worn in a way we hadn’t thought of ! Although the fact they were bought in sets might give you some idea.

Unfortunately they weren’t able to tell us the air date and we forgot to ask whether this was CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, or CSI: NY (we suspect it was CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), so we have our DVR’s set to record every new episode of of all three CSI versions!

In our previous post we shared with you that Sorella had the honor of creating an original Palladium pendant that was given as a thank you gift to Kelly Osbourne, Pam Anderson, and Rose McGowan for their participation as models in a national palladium advertising campaign sponsored by the Palladium Alliance.

Well, now we find that US Weekly Magazine (Sept 5, 200 issue) has featured this new piece – the Diamond-Rimmed Script Monogram Pendant in Palladium – in their, oh-so- influential “Buzzometer” section! How exciting. We are absolutely  “buzzing” with excitement!

And also online at USMagazine.com.

The celebrity world has discovered Sorella Jewelry Studio! We’re tickled to have Kelly Osbourne, Pam Anderson, a nd Rose McGowan wearing our pieces.

Wondering what Sorella Jewelry Studio could have in common with this celebrity world? Well, it’s palladium … the luscious, naturally white precious metal that makes for such beautiful jewelry.

We’ve always been big fans of palladium and have always created just about every one of our pieces in this luxurious precious metal that is a member of the platinum group of metals. So, you can imagine our excitement when the Palladium Alliance (the national trade organization for palladium) partnered with three fab celebrities with ties to “heavy metal” for a national advertising campaign with the tagline “I’m So Over Heavy Metal.”

Pam Anderson, Kelly Osbourne, and Rose McGowan each were shot wearing gorgeous Palladium jewelry.

And where does Sorella come in? Well, we were asked by the Palladium Alliance to create an original Palladium piece to present to each of these women as a thank you gift for their participation in the advertising campaign. We were tres honored.

We were inspired by these three beautiful and uniquely original women to create a luxurious Diamond-Rimmed Script Monogram Pendant with matching chain. The Lacey initials are carved with a “pierced” design that is circled by a border of 40 diamonds.

Each woman received their pendant when they finished their photo shoot. It was a real thrill for us to see Kelly, Pamela, and Rose’s reaction when they opened the box and saw their very personal diamond monogram pendant. They were delighted! And so were we!

This beautiful pendant has now been added to our collection and is already catching the eye of our customers with a quite a few pendants already in production.

While the pendant is available in a variety of metals, we’re really partial to Palladium.

The Whole Fam-damily Gets Into The Act

Naming our studio after the Italian word for “sister” gives you a good idea of how important family is to Lynn and me. The third sorella, our sister Jill, is a talented graphic and fine artist who also is a significant artistic contributor to Sorella.

The three of us aren’t just sisters, we’re best friends. And we’re lucky to have amazing family members who are just fun people to hang out with.

So, a couple of weeks ago when we needed to shoot our new Mosaic Stacking Ring Collection we reached out to our niece Amanda (Jill’s daughter) to be our ring model.  Amanda came to the photo shoot with her two adorable little boys – Brady (3 years) and Max (7 months). So Lynn invited her daughter, Alexandra, to “baby wrangle” during the shoot. It was truly a family production.

The result was great photos and another great time with family.
