Don’t Let Your Chain Overpower Your Pendant. Please.

We often are asked by customers for suggestions on what necklace chain to choose to go with a pendant they’re ordering. Our answer is always that with personalized pendants you don’t want a busy, overly ornate chain that competes with the pendant.

We may be a bit biased, but we believe … passionately believe … that the pendant is the star of a necklace.

So, our suggestions are always for simple necklace chains that set off the pendant. Our favorites are the silky snake chain, or a light cable or wheat chain. And the best look is to match the metal of the chain to the metal of the pendant.

Oh, So Petite Key Pendants

With Mother’s Day sneaking up on us we wanted to add several new pieces to our line that speak particularly to Mothers.

The first are these “oh, so, petite” key pendants. Around our studio, we affectionately call them the “baby pendants” -  because they’re small, not because they’re for babies.   The pendants are only 24mm long (about an inch) and the fob is 10mm wide.

The fob at the top of the key is heart-shaped and holds either a single initial in elegant French Script or a single heart-shaped birthstone.

Each piece is available in your choice of sterling silver, 10k yellow or white gold, 14k and 18k yellow, white and rose gold, and palladium.

The keys are beautiful worn alone, but even more special when worn in multiples. Mix and match initials and birthstones and different metals to create extra visual impact. They can be worn directly on a chain or from our Heart Charm for extra flair.

The Key Pendant Collection

Antique keys are one hot trend in jewelry today and Sorella is delivering our own unique twist on this style.

Double-Sided Personalized Pendants For Twice as Much Meaning

Our customers often are sources for great product ideas. One of those ideas that has really taken off is the double-sided pendant.

About a year ago we had a customer ask whether we could create a double-sided version of our 25mm Vertical Chinese Symbol pendant so that they could put one message on one side and a different message on the other.

We instantly had one of those “Why didn’t we think of that” moments. What a great idea. We made the double sided Chinese Symbol pendant for that customer and have been making quite a few ever since. The personalized pendants are completely reversible with the wearer deciding which side to wear facing out each time they put it on. Now that’s truly personalized jewelry.

We offer the double-sided version in almost all of our one-tone, solid pendants. What you decide to put on each side is up to you. You can choose Chinese Symbols, words, dates, names, or any combination of these.

Chinese Symbols: Exotic & Meaningful

I love Chinese symbols in design. I love how they combine an exotic and attractive visual together with a very personal meaning.

When my sister, Lynn, and I started Sorella Jewelry Studio, I pushed to include Chinese symbol pendants and charms right from the beginning. I loved the idea of Chinese Symbols on jewelry and thought others might too.

I turned out to be so right (as I remind Lynn of regularly). Our Chinese Symbol line has turned into one of our top sellers. Because of their popularity, we’ve expanded the line with the addition of bracelets, rings, key rings, and additional pendant shapes.

While you can find Chinese Symbol jewelry many places, the symbols available are very limited and tend to be … well… boring. You know …. Happiness.  Long Life.  Love.  ….Yawn.

With our line we have nearly 300 words/phrases already translated into symbols and available to view on our website. Beyond those 300, we can have just about any word, name or phrase translated by our Taiwan-based translator.

As a co-owner of a Jewelry Studio, I obvioulsy own a lot of jewelry. More often than not, however, what is around my neck is a Sorella 25mm Vertical Chinese Symbol Pendant with the two symbols for “Journey.”  It’s a wonderful reminder to enjoy every day.
